I Still Love Someone I've Known A Long Long Time

Now and then an old friend
Tries to help me
By telling me there's someone
I shoud meet
But I don't have the Heart
To start all over
Because my heart is laying
At anothers feet

You just don't throw Kerosene
On an old flame
I don't want no one else
On my mind
I just don't need nobody new
To cling to
I still love someone I've known
A long long time

I have built my world around
A memory
And she's the only one
That I let in
Every time I try to love
Somebody
In my mind I'm loving her
Again

You just don't throw kerosene
On an old flame
I don't want no one else
On my mind
I just don't need nobody new
To cling to
I still love someone I've known
A long long time

Puppet

I, am not a puppet
No Geppetto controls my strings
No one tells me when to jump
And I've never asked how high.
Those who orbit the boundries
Of this world I call my life
Could never ever understand
Each sacrifice that I make.
They sit in empty space
On their ivory thrones
Passing judgement
Without facts
Watching through the window
Of suburban tv screens
Unable to see the forest
Through a sea of viagra dreams.
It is said that life
Can be a roller coaster
Lots of ups and downs
And a thousand petty screams.
Empty lives of discretion
Solely without valor
Is worthless as a gesture
In a two bit world of schemes,
Yet despite the jeers
Of the hissing crowd
Gathering outside
For the drawing
Of aged innocent blood;
Their will be no sacrifice
No lamb upon a production stage.
An audience left
With disapointment
Should well beware
Of that which is free.
I will do my mourning
Among internet entrails
In the shadows
Of an early fall
A character actor
Without a script
Left to recite soliloquies
In the dark.

Sea Worn Eyes

Sea-worn eyes
Deep as the ocean
Pools of mystery
When the tide rushes in
Passions seething
Elemental, ebb and flow
Murky depths wait to reveal
What's hidden within
Surface scarred
Weathered by time
And winds of change
Soul adrift
Tested by currents destiny
Tempestuous raging
A beacon fading on the shore
Now disappearing
Sea-worn eyes
Fogged over
With clouds

Solidarity of Yesterday

Unshared love is crippling, consuming me.
It tears at my heart, rips off the protective cover
And exposes my being to the elements.

Lacking love is disarming; assailed by loneliness, I struggle.
Confined to solitude, I need to defend myself,
But where are my old weapons? Rusted, awkwardly functioning.

Without love, alone once more, I am no longer content.
I return to that place searching for familiar emotions,
But I am a stranger, no longer welcome.

Now, in the shadowland of loneliness that is my companion,
I see only demons, clawing & tearing at my soul.
So I stand between Heaven & Hell & weep my silent fate.

I Cry ForYou

Time is passing by
Are your thoughts still on me?
My warm and tender loving
My heart ever so true
The comfort and the shelter
That I gave to you
The words and little gestures
You were blind to see
Too late to say you love me
Too late to ease your mind
Too late to make you happy
Too late to treat you kind
Now all that is left for me
Is to cry for you
The house is cold and empty
No candlelight to share
The little things around me
They just make me stare
Like your picture on the wall
Too late to say you need me
Too late to make you smile
No longer you will feel me
I’ve been gone awhile
Now all there is left to do
Is cry for you
And when you get to sleep
And meet me in your dreams
Then will you try to makeup?
All though it merely seems
It’s too late to say you miss me
Too late too plan your schemes
Too late for an apology
It’s not good for your esteem
Now all there is left for me
Is to cry for you
I cry for you

Gone Too Long

Knowing, seeing what isn't there
This longing I have I cannot bear.
Shattered, pumping, beating fast
Heart pulled through shards of glass
Try to pick the pieces up
I place them in a plastic cup.
A million pieces soaked in blood
Wasted flowers' shriveled bud
Rising stench dying cavity
Look within find hearts depravity
Seeking what has never changed
Baste the bitter love estranged
Sitting, waiting, eternity
Death wrapped in futility
Staring, meaningless and beyond
Cannot accept that you are gone
If happiness could not suffice
Then solitude would pay my price
Falling farther away from you
Descending fast as you fall too
Silent I call your name
Blinded eyes to hide my shame
Hold this all inside my mind
Now emptiness is all you'll find
Hold this all inside my head
The emptiness is all but dead

Recollections

They splash your heart
Like waves on the beach
All the things you learn
All the things you teach
The mind falls back
To a place long ago
Where all was still ahead
And time so very slow
Let your mind roam free
To the things of the past
Open doors to the future
Never meant to last
These thoughts you say
May come and go
They were made of substance
And helped you grow
Special treasures
That seems so clear
Memories as these
Are oh, so dear
