I don't know why but I just go mimsy for Jabberwoky poems, this is one of mine-
'Twas fall in the year,
Two cats that snored
Did rise to drink
And dinny eat in unison
Mostly in accord,
Their meal slightly
Less than venison.
"Beware the Season,
My children!
Breath that chills the air,
The browning blade!
Beware the early twilight's din!
The frumpy dead leaves; evade!"
They took their warning
In pawful playful hand:
For long time
The high crimson
And rusty leaf
Was eagerly sought--
But rested they then
In kitty dreamland,
And dreamed awhile of nought.
And for that while
In daydreamy thought
They did drool.
The Leafawoky,
With colored eyes aflame,
Came casting dead leaves
Into a clear pool,
And snickering
And snackering
as he came!
One, two! One, two!
And through and through
The Leafawocky stood,
Borne the final proof
Now alas, the summer
Hath he fell away, aloof
And all bright colors with him
Did then go "poof".
"And hast thou seen
The Leafawoky this day?
Come to my arms,
My beamish cats, enjoy!
O Glorious day!
But winter's to pay,
For autumn is
But winter's sneaky decoy!"
'Twas full winter now,
Two cats that snored
Did rise to drink
And dinny eat in unison:
Mostly in accord,
Their meal slightly
Less than venison.

Today it's Autumn
I wake
Rub my eyes
As blurry visions
Cringe from crusty
Corners washed by tears
My eyes red from night burn
Reflect grey early morning sky
I feel congenial benediction within
As we suffer the eminent death of leaves
The world looks more than man can destroy.
A red squirrel’s fur gathers at the gutter
Mist circles the quiet Storm Petral pool
Soon bereft beneath a leafless tree.
Across the way in a rusty barrow
Pungent exhales of burnt wood
Flat grey ash flickers on air.
Ink-stained hands of a boy
Flicks a tabloid fish wrap
Racing inclement haste
To share a headline
With ourselves
Day begins.
Rub my eyes
As blurry visions
Cringe from crusty
Corners washed by tears
My eyes red from night burn
Reflect grey early morning sky
I feel congenial benediction within
As we suffer the eminent death of leaves
The world looks more than man can destroy.
A red squirrel’s fur gathers at the gutter
Mist circles the quiet Storm Petral pool
Soon bereft beneath a leafless tree.
Across the way in a rusty barrow
Pungent exhales of burnt wood
Flat grey ash flickers on air.

Flicks a tabloid fish wrap
Racing inclement haste
To share a headline
With ourselves
Day begins.
FALL
Solomn birds attend court
To the street lady screaming
At a desolate dying tree.
Pigeons nervously avoid her.
Caramel leaves dance near her feet.
Blackbirds hopping back and forward
Ridicule her, while the autumn sun
That touches her with frail heat
Passes tribunal indifference
To the street lady screaming
At a desolate dying tree.
Pigeons nervously avoid her.
Caramel leaves dance near her feet.
Blackbirds hopping back and forward
Ridicule her, while the autumn sun
That touches her with frail heat
Passes tribunal indifference
AUTUMN
Butterflies have met their match
In wind swept falling leaves.
Bright swirls of autumn colors
Defy the shifting breeze.
Cloudless skies of sapphire blue
Trees ruby red and gold
Cold crisp nights with brilliant moon
And stars a thousand fold.
Soon the leaves will reach the ground
Where they’ll decay and die.
The butterflies will feel the chill
And southward they will fly.
Soon winter clouds with snow and ice
Will cover the terrain.
But with spring and summertime
The cycle starts again.
In wind swept falling leaves.
Bright swirls of autumn colors
Defy the shifting breeze.
Cloudless skies of sapphire blue
Trees ruby red and gold
Cold crisp nights with brilliant moon
And stars a thousand fold.
Soon the leaves will reach the ground
Where they’ll decay and die.
The butterflies will feel the chill
And southward they will fly.
Soon winter clouds with snow and ice
Will cover the terrain.
But with spring and summertime
The cycle starts again.

The Truth of Lies
A lie is quick
Yet shies from light.
A truth is patient
And always right.
Live with fear
Live with pain,
Heavy choices
For one will remain.
Tell the truth
Hurt your friends.
Tell a lie
And friendship ends.
This is the burden
Life does plead
We choose one
And back our deed.
As once we stood
At the promised land
Our judgement is met
With God's hand
So tell your tales
Spread your lies
Live with fear
As honor dies
Nothing remains
For a dishonest soul
Who hides from light
In nights shadowy fold
To share imagination
And speak ones dream’s
Is not the same
As a liar’s schemes
The truth is there
In every shameful lie
Just beneath
The fabricators cry.
The lie is quick
It fears the light
The truth is painful
Yet always right.
So tell your tales
Spread your lies
Live with fear
As honor dies
Nothing remains
For a dishonest soul
Who hides from light
In nights shadowy fold
To share imagination
And speak ones dream’s
Is not the same
As a liar’s schemes
The truth is there
In every shameful lie
Just beneath
The fabricators cry.
The lie is quick
It fears the light
The truth is painful
Yet always right.

In memory of my friend and biggest musical fan
A Rose Unto God
She ran the race
She fought the fight,
She kept her pace
Found strength in His light.
We gave you this day
A Rose so bright
With faith we pray
You'll hold her tight
Up she did go
To Heavens place,
She's in Gods glow
And painless grace
Then did she bring
Shining and bright,
Before the Holy King
And LORD of Might.
A song of joy
Of life complete
Of Battles won
And mercy sweet
We will remember
And accept her fate
The August surrender
To God on that date.
We think of Rose
And what we know
She filled our hearts
From head to toe.
God's mercy on us all.

I Still Love Someone I've Known A Long Long Time
Now and then an old friend
Tries to help me
By telling me there's someone
I shoud meet
But I don't have the Heart
To start all over
Because my heart is laying
At anothers feet
You just don't throw Kerosene
On an old flame
I don't want no one else
On my mind
I just don't need nobody new
To cling to
I still love someone I've known
A long long time
I have built my world around
A memory
And she's the only one
That I let in
Every time I try to love
Somebody
In my mind I'm loving her
Again
You just don't throw kerosene
On an old flame
I don't want no one else
On my mind
I just don't need nobody new
To cling to
I still love someone I've known
A long long time
Tries to help me
By telling me there's someone
I shoud meet
But I don't have the Heart
To start all over
Because my heart is laying
At anothers feet
You just don't throw Kerosene
On an old flame
I don't want no one else
On my mind
I just don't need nobody new
To cling to
I still love someone I've known
